Meet Jay Lowe.
Jay started it on a fairly simple idea: most people just want a plumber who answers the phone, turns up when he said he would, and does the job properly. That should be ordinary. It is not.
Northern Flame is a real crew now rather than one van, but Jay is still on the tools and still the person who answers the phone. Every job is done by a licensed journeyperson, and the standard holds because someone specific is accountable for it.
As a Red Seal journeyman plumber, Jay has spent years in the trade across Calgary, working on everything from emergency repairs in century-old homes to full rough-ins on new builds.

What is a Red Seal plumber?
A Red Seal plumber has earned the Red Seal endorsement, the national interprovincial standard of trade certification in Canada. It means the plumber has completed a full apprenticeship and passed the standardized journeyman exam. Jay Lowe holds Red Seal certification in Alberta.
Is Northern Flame licensed and insured in Alberta?
Yes. Northern Flame is fully licensed for plumbing, heating, and gasfitting work in Alberta, is fully insured, and is WCB registered. Credentials are available to see on request.
Will an apprentice or a journeyman do my job?
A licensed journeyperson does every job. Northern Flame stays deliberately small so work is never handed off to an unsupervised apprentice, and everything is completed to current Calgary code.
